The Anteaters looks to stay unbeaten in conference play at home against Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday Jan. 11 before heading to CSUN for a Saturday (Jan. 14) matinee.
ABOUT THE TITANS
> Cal State Fullerton  has started the season 9-7, opening Big West play with a loss at home to UC Santa Barbara
> The Titans have won three consecutive conference games, most notably defeating Hawaii 79-72 in overtime

For the first time in program history, both the men's and women's programs have started conference play 3-0. The men look to improve their streak to four and the women to six in their contests against Cal St. Fullerton.

LEUCTHEN— BIG WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bent Leuchten earned recognition for his efforts in UC Irvine's 2-0 week. Leuchten recorded an impressive stat line over the last two contests, shooting 17-21 (0.810) from the field, 4-5 (0.800) from three-point range, and 8-9 (0.889) from the line to average 23 points a game. Bent set career bests in points (31), field goals made (12), field goal attempts (15), three-point field goals made (2), and free throws made (5).

IT'S RAINING THREE'S
UC Irvine's shots fell in their 87-70 victory against Long Beach St. The 'Eaters drained 13's in the contest, their second highest performance behind the arc this season. UCI shot at a 0.615 clip (8-13) in the first half where
DJ Davis, who is 22nd in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (0.443), made three. In the 2021-22 season, UCI only made 126 three-pointers and the Anteaters have made 119 in sixteen contests.

DEFENSE BEHIND THE ARC
UCI has now held three different opponents to zero three-pointers in a half and only allowed The Beach to shoot at a 0.125 clip (2-16) from range, the second lowest three-point percentage for an opponent this season. Nine other schools have held their opponent to zero made field goals in a half with six of them doing it multiple times

LIMITED FREE TRIPS
The Anteaters were only allowed four shots at the free throw line in the victory over LBSU, the lowest of the season. Despite the limited trips, UCI made all their attempts for the first time all year. Seven other school have been limited to four or few from the line this season.

Pierre Crockrell II tied his career high 10 assists in the victory over The Beach for the 'Eaters first double-digit assist game of the season. The senior ranks 37th nationally in assists per game with 5.0

Dawson Baker and
DJ Davis are close to hitting the 700 point mark in their careers. Baker is just eight points away while Davis is 51.
HIGHLY EFFICIENT SHOOTING
UCI has shot over a 0.500 clip in the last three contests (CSU Bakersfield— 0.550, UC Davis—0.561, and Long Beach St.—0.507). The Anteaters efficiency on the floor ranks them 44th nationally in effective field goal percentage (0.545)

ALL ABOUT THE ROTATION
The 'Eaters, who are a strong scoring team receive a lot of momentum from the second and third rotations. UCI is ranked 22nd nationally in bench points per game (29.07).

LIFE IN THE FAST LANE
UC Irvine finds themselves among the best in another specialty statistical category, landing 46th in the nation in fast break points, averaging 13.53. The Anteaters join UC Davis (29th) and Long Beach State (22nd) who are also top-50 nationally.

UCI has outscored their opponents by 168 points when scoring in the paint (UCI 560, Opp. 392). The Anteaters average 37.3 points in the paint per game.

DOUBLE DIGIT SCORING STAR
After his performance against Long Beach St.,
Dawson Baker sets a new streak of 10 consecutive games scoring in double figures. Baker has recorded 14 double digit scoring games this season and has posted 36 in his career thus far.

DJ Davis surpassed the career marker at Santa Clara with his first made free throw of the contest. Teammate and fellow junior
Dawson Baker hit the same career mark back against Fresno State.
Pierre Crockrell II is not far behind needing three more points to reach this feat.

The first NET ranking of the season was released on Monday Dec. 5. The 'Eaters are the highest ranked and one of two Big West team within the top-100 sitting at 84 with UC Santa Barbara locking in the second position at 92.
