PONOMA, Calif. – No. 9 UC Irvine men's water polo (7-6) competed in their second straight overtime contest, earning the 19-17 win over No. 16 California Baptist (8-7).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

>Jacob Pyle earned the start in goal, making three saves along with three steals
>Stewart Campbell led all players in goals and shots with five and seven respectively

>Ethan Shipman led all players with four steals while tallying two assists

FIRST PERIOD

>Within a minute, Ethan Shipman (3:39) and Zlatan Nikocevic (2:49, 2:05) beat the goalie for the lead
>Cal Baptist knotted it at four a piece before Jasper Dale (1:10) lifted one into the top right corner, assisted from Shipman
>Stewart Campbell (0:34) got in on the offensive action before the end of the period

SECOND PERIOD
>Tyler Padua (6:51) scored first in the period before Liechty found Campbell (4:55) on the power play opportunity
>Shipman (2:37) fired a shot to the back of the net off a Lancer turnover
>Jack Stevens (0:28) deposited a goal from Shipman followed by Dylan Patist's (0:01) goal to close out the first half of play

THIRD PERIOD
>Campbell (7:14) notched the hat-trick to start the third period

>With his fourth goal of the contest, Campbell (3:20) earned the first goal between the two squads during the final eight minutes
