· The 'Eaters began the week at UC Davis on Thursday playing to a 2-2 draw. UCI came from behind from a 1-0 first half deficit and 2-1 second half deficit for the point.
Lilli Rask turned home a goal just before the first half to make it 1-1, and
Destinee Manzo's distant header off a long
Amber Huff throw-in equalized again.
· UC Irvine finished the week Sunday night vs. CSU Bakersfield. The sides played to a 0-0 draw with each team putting up six shots on goal. Keepers
Glo Hinojosa and CSUB's Hollie Hercik were spectacular with saves on each end to earn shutouts. The draw extends UCI's streak to three consecutive draws tying its longest mark done one other time to end the 2012 season against CSUN, Hawai'i, and CSF
· The Anteaters have a trio of players that reached 50 career matches last week, something 92 Anteaters have reached all-time.
Destinee Manzo played her 50th matchup Thursday scoring the equalizer in a 2-2 match.
Gianna Creighton and
Maddy Chavez each hit 50 matches Sunday along with posting a shutout vs. CSUB
· The prolific Anteater coaching staff is together for its eighth season, second-longest tenure among California programs. Assistants
P.J. Woolridge and
Danielle de Seriere coached together with coach Juniper for the 150th time Sunday with a career record as a unit of 69-61-20
· Anteater keeper
Glo Hinojosa hit the 100 career save mark in the match at UC San Diego. She joins 15 other Anteaters to reach 100 in their careers. She was helped by a seven-save effort Thursday at USC that tied a career high, and put up six more Sunday night, her fifth match with 6+ saves, all coming in her last 13 matches.
· Thursday night UCI and UC Riverside will meet on similar paths. The 'Eaters have tie in three straight matches while the Highlanders have done in six straight. Both teams have scored in eight of UCR's 10 matches aside from scoreless draws with Utah State and UCSD. This match features the Big West's top scoring offenses with 17 goals each and UCR which is second in corner kicks. Alexandra Hargrave paves the way with six goals and three assists while Caela Kaio and Cassia Souza have each started five matches in net with 39 saves between them.
· The week ends in Anteater Stadium for an evening grudge match with Cal State Fullerton. The Titans currently lead the pack with six points through two matches in Big West play to go with five overall wins to top the conference and a win over UCI in their back pocket topping UCI, 2-1, in a non-conference tilt in August. CSF is among the nation's best at earning corners (6.1 per match) and freshman Mia Ranson in net has 60 saves, 14th in the nation. With 14 goals this season, the Titans have spread scoring between Emelia Owen's three and two each from three others
