UC Irvine Moves Up To Place Sixth At Big West Championship

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- UC Irvine moved up two spots and finished in a tie for sixth at the Big West Championships held at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
The Anteaters battled back Tuesday to finish the final round with a score of 316 and a three-day final score of 952 (318-318-316).
UCI was led by junior Megan Yang who finished in a tie for 22nd place with a score of 236 (76-80-80). Sophomore Coco Yang matched Megan with a tournament-low 76 over the final 18 holes. She was tied for 25th overall with a score of 237 (81-80-76), while senior Sienna Lyford was 27th , a stroke behind at 238 (79-80-79). Senior Angela Bagasbas finished in a tie for 29th place with a three-round total of 241 (82-80-81). Freshman Nicole Zhang ended in a tie for 34th place at 245 (82-80-83).
The Yangs and Bagasbas each carded a pair of birdies on the final round and all logged four for the tournament.
M. Yang led all players with an average of two-under on Par 5s and C. Yang was tied for third among tournament players on Par 3 holes, shooting two over par.
