LOS ANGELES - The 70th-ranked UC Irvine men's tennis team kept rolling with a 4-0 win over Loyola Marymount Sunday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Center.

The Anteaters (6-4) earned their fifth-straight victory, and second consecutive sweep.

The Lions (2-8) struck first, taking the doubles match on court two, but the 'Eaters responded just minutes later as
Matthew Sah and
Lawee Sherif upended Austin Di Giulio/John Otico, 6-3, at No. 3.
Emmanuel Coste and
Noah Zamora then clinched the point with a 6-3 triumph over Thien Nguyen/Charles Roberts at the top of the lineup.

Riccardo Roberto put UCI up 2-0 early in singles play with a straight-set victory at the second position. He defeated Otico, 6-3, 6-1, to extend his win streak to five.

Sherif also dispatched Rana-Roop Bhullar, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 4, before 86th-ranked Coste secured the sweep with a 6-4, 7-5 triumph over Dane Esses at No. 1.

UC Irvine was also up in two of the three matches that went unfinished. Sah won his first set, 6-2, and was tied at 6-6 in the second on court six when the Anteaters clinched.
Mike Mkrtchian, meanwhile, was on the comeback trail at No. 5 as he led 1-6, 7-6 (3), 4-2.

UCI is back in action on Tuesday, March 8, when it welcomes Weber State to Anteater Tennis Stadium for a 10 a.m. match.

• The Anteaters have won the doubles point in their last three matches.
• Sherif/Sah are 3-0 since making their debut as a doubles team on Feb. 27.
• Roberto is on a season-long five-match win streak in singles.
