LONG BEACH, Calif. - Liam Miksic and Josh Farmer kicked off the 2022 UC Irvine men's track & field season in the javelin Friday at the Beach Opener.
 
Miksic, a true freshman making his collegiate debut, established a personal-record 195-03 to finish fourth in a field of 33 athletes. Miksic's mark ranks sixth in school history (since 1986).
 
Farmer, who earned All-America honors in the decathlon last year, was also 16th with a toss of 148-05.
 
The rest of the Anteaters will be in action tomorrow with a full slate of events at the Beach Opener starting at 10 a.m.
