5 - Amber Huff earned three assists in Thursday's win and added two on Sunday for assists on the last 5 UCI goals
 
· UC Irvine defeated the host Cal State Fullerton Sunday in the Big West First Round match in overtime, 2-0. Glo Hinojosa came up big with a penalty save in the 65th minute to keep things scoreless and send it to overtime. In the extra periods, UCI scored off an Amber Huff corner as Suus de Bakker volleyed home a goal in the 95th minute for her first game-winner, and Huff laced another corner onto Destinee Manzo to double the lead with a header in the 102nd minute.
· Amber Huff matched a program record with three assists on in Thursday's win over Hawai'i. It's the fourth time an Anteater has done it and first since Tanya Taylor in 2010. She then added two assists from corners on the two goals in Sunday's win giving her an assist on five consecutive UCI goals, six total on the season, and the team's active career leader with 11
· The Anteaters have a trio of players that reached 50 career matches this season, something 92 Anteaters have reached all-time with Destinee Manzo, Gianna Creighton, and Maddy Chavez this year. Lilli Rask played her 50th career match between UCI and Oregon on Thursday and notched her fourth career goal. 'Eaters are also approaching the 70-match mark with Huff hitting it a few matches ago and Alex Jaquez in line to hit 70 matches on Thursday against UC Davis.
· Alyssa Moore collected the game-winner Thursday, the fourth of her career all coming on her last four goals (2021 at UCLA, 2022 vs. Cal, CSUN, and Hawai'i)
· Glo Hinojosa enters the week among the program's goalkeeper leaders. Her career 0.95 GAA is third at UCI, sixth with 24 wins, fourth with 18 shutouts, the fourth-best .643 win percentage, and 139 career saves needing eight to crack the program's top-10 including picking up her second career PK save on Sunday.
· UCI reached the Big West Tournament for 13th time in 21 all-time tournaments. Under head coach Scott Juniper, UCI is making its 11th trip and is the defending champion winning their second title along with the 1997 squad. UCI has a 8-10-2 record in the tournament and is seeking its fourth NCAA Tournament appearance.
· The 2022 field has Cal Poly and UC Davis earning byes as the semifinals and final turn to San Luis Obispo now. LBSU joins UCI to complete the semifinal matchups Thursday. Sunday's final will be at 1:00 p.m. also from Cal Poly's Spanos Stadium
· Thursday's semi vs. UC Davis matches up the 'Eaters and Aggies for the second time in the Big West Tournament. UCI won the other meeting, 1-0, in the 2009 semifinals. UCI and UCD drew 2-2 at Davis earlier this season as the Anteaters equalized in the 42nd and 62nd minutes back on September 22
