IRVINE, Calif. - UC Irvine Athletics had an overall Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 87% according to the most recent data released by the NCAA.
Â
It is the ninth-straight year the Anteaters combined for an overall GSR score at or above 85.
Â
The Anteaters were led by men's golf, men's tennis, women's cross country/track & field, women's indoor track & field, men's water polo and women's volleyball as all six programs posted a perfect GSR score of 100. Women's water polo (94), baseball (92) and women's soccer (91) were also above the 90% benchmark.
Â
The latest GSR is based off the graduation rate data for the 2012-13 to 2015-16 freshman cohorts for all NCAA Division I institutions.
Â
The Graduation Success Rate was developed by the NCAA to more accurately portray a student-athlete's academic success. The NCAA calculates the rates based upon the number of student-athletes who graduated within six years after initially enrolling as well as student-athletes who entered mid-year and those who transferred from two-year or four-year colleges. In the GSR, institutions are not penalized for students who transfer while in good academic standing.
