| By:
IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine women's tennis has announced their 2022-23 slate.

UCI will play in three fall tournaments, starting with the Long Beach State Invitational, Oct. 7-9. The Anteaters will then compete at the ITA Southwest Regionals from Oct. 20-23 in San Diego.

The fall season will wrap up at the CSUN Fall Invitational, Nov. 12-14.

"We are looking forward to starting practice and soon after rolling right into a challenging fall schedule with Long Beach St. Invitational, ITA Southwest Regional, which is one of the toughest regional events, and concluding with CSUN Hidden Duals," remarked head coach Elizabeth Ferris. "These tournaments will test us early and give us an excellent idea of what to fine-tune and give direction on how our lineup will shape up for the dual match season."

The 'Eaters will open up dual play on Jan. 20 at William Jessup. After a two week hiatus, UCI's home opener is set for Feb. 5 against Portland State. The Anteaters will continue their home stand with Cal St. Los Angeles (Feb. 9), Sacramento State (Feb. 11), and a Big West match against UC Davis (Feb. 19).

UC Irvine will head up to Hope International on Feb. 25 before returning home for two home contests against Big West foe Cal State Fullerton on Mar. 3 and Utah State on Mar. 11.

"With hosting seven out of our first nine matches at home, we are mostly looking forward to hosting Portland St, Sacramento St, and Utah St, which are all teams we are familiar with, but haven't hosted in some years."

The Anteaters close out the month of March and open the month of April with a trip to the East Coast.

A busy week for the Anteaters as they play two matches in New York and three in Virginia. UCI first faces Hofstra on Mar. 26 followed by Stony Brook on Mar. 27. In the Commonwealth, the Blue and Gold will take on Hampton (Mar. 31), Norfolk St. (Apr. 1), and Longwood (Apr. 2).

Big West play comes in full swing with a road match at UC Riverside (April 6) followed by a home match against UC San Diego (April 8). UCI will hit the road one last time for a non-conference tilt at Westmont on April 14, followed by conference contests at UC Santa Barbara (April 15) and Cal Poly (April 16). Conference action concludes at home with matches against Long Beach on April 23 and Hawaii on April 25.

"We will round out the spring with a great conference schedule. We will be excited to welcome UC San Diego, Long Beach St, and lastly Hawaii on our senior day."

The Big West Championships are slated for April 26-29 in San Diego.
