LAST TIME OUT
Josh Farmer highlighted last week's action, winning the decathlon at the Franson Classic Multis in Azusa with a personal-record 7,648 points. It was the second-best score in program history and fourth in all of NCAA Division I this season. The rest of the Anteaters remained in Orange County for the Fullerton Spring Invitational. Kyle Tsu earned his third shot put victory in four meets with a toss of 56-05.75, while Jack Pickard notched a season-best 213-10 in the javelin to claim runner-up honors. On the track, Jarel Sayles secured his second-straight 110m hurdle title, clocking in at 14.72 seconds. Miles Duncan was also second in the 800m with a season-best 1:53.68, and UCI's 4x400 relay closed out the meet with a winning time of 3:16.83.

FARMER EARNS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS
Junior Josh Farmer was named the Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his winning performance in the decathlon at the Franson Classic Multis. In his first decathlon since 2019, and first as an Anteater, Farmer posted the second-best point total in school history, sitting behind only 1978 national champion Mauricio Bardales. His mark also ranks first in the Big West, second in the West Region and fourth in the nation this season. The San Diego native established lifetime bests in seven of the 10 events, including a leap of 23-11 in the long jump, which puts him at No. 10 in program history. He also set PRs in the pole vault (15-11), javelin (167-11), shot put (45-03.75), discus (130-08), 100m (10.66) and 400m (48.79). Farmer's last decathlon was at the 2019 Pac-12 Championships where he had a podium finish as a true freshman at Colorado.

THROWING IT OUT THERE
Junior Kyle Tsu is currently tops in the Big West in the shot put (57-09.75) and sixth in the discus (174-08). Tsu's mark in the discus, which he notched at the season-opening Ben Brown Invitational, was a lifetime best and put him at No. 8 in school history. He already ranks third among UCI's all-time leaders with a personal-record 57-11.25 in the shot put. Tsu was a 2019 All-Big West performer and NCAA West Preliminary qualifier in the shot put.

LONG JUMP LEADER
Senior Seth Enochs is the top returning long jumper from the 2019 Big West Championships where he was the runner-up with a wind-aided personal-record 25-04. He also came in 15th at the 2019 NCAA West Preliminary Championships, and ranks fourth in school history with a wind-legal PR of 25-00.75. In 2021, Enochs owns a season-best 23-11, which is tied for second in the conference.

BACK ON TRACK
Prior to the season opener, senior javelin thrower Jack Pickard was last in action at the NCAA West Prelims in May 2019. He advanced to the postseason two years ago with a school-record 221-00. Pickard didn't miss a beat after the long hiatus, opening the 2021 campaign with an individual victory in the javelin at the Ben Brown Invitational (205-05), and later establishing a season-best 213-10 at the Fullerton Spring Invitational. He ranks third in the Big West.

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
Freshman Jarel Sayles has had an impressive start to his collegiate career, placing among the top-two in each of his first four 110-meter hurdle races. He picked up individual victories at the Red & Black Invitational and Fullerton Spring Invitational, while establishing a season-best 14.49 in a runner-up finish at UCLA.
