
Dylan Zhai Named Big West Freshman Of The Week

IRVINE, Calif. -- Setter Dylan Zhai collected his first career Big West Men's Volleyball Freshman of the Week award with a pair of solid efforts against No. 13 UC San Diego.
The freshman posted a career-high 51 set assists in back-to-back matches with the Tritons.
In the first meeting with UCSD, Zhai notched his first career double-double as a career-best 10 digs helped the UCI cause. He flirted with a triple-double while adding a career-high seven block assists.
In the second meeting, he added an ace and five digs.
Zhai, who is the second Anteater to win the award this season, is currently fourth in the Big West with an 8.67 set assist average.
Up next, UCI will host CSUN Saturday (Mar. 20) at 4:00 p.m. at the Bren Events Center.
