IRVINE, Calif. - UC Irvine men's golf closes out their fall season this week at the Visit Stockton Invitational, Oct. 21-23.

The three-day tournament will be played at the par-71, 6,566-yard course at the Stockton Golf & Country Club. Eighteen holes will be contested each day with tee times starting at 7:45 a.m.

The Anteaters are part of a 15-team field that also features No. 57 BYU, California Baptist, CSUN, Dixie State, Fresno State, Sacramento State, No. 58 Saint Mary's, No. 66 San José State, Temple, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, No. 41 Utah, Washington State and host Pacific.

LAST TIME OUT
Last week, UC Irvine finished seventh at the Bill Cullum Invitational (Oct. 11-12) with a 5-count-4 team score of 905. Sophomore
Kolbe Irei paced the Anteaters with his first collegiate top-20 showing. Irei had UCI's best round of the tournament on the final day, shooting a 2-over 74. He climbed six spots on the leaderboard to tie for 17th (224), and led all players with 40 pars. Freshman

Nathan Irwin tied for 33rd with a 54-hole total of 229. Sophomore
Henry Fitzhugh also tied for 38th at 230, while classmate
Darien Zhao tied for 45th (232).

NEWS & NOTES
• This week will mark UCI's fifth appearance in the Visit Stockton Invitational in the last seven years.
• In the Anteaters' four previous outings in Stockton, they had a high finish of third in 2015.
• The 2020 event was canceled in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Sophomore
Kolbe Irei had his first collegiate top-20 showing last week at the Bill Cullum Invitational.
• Irei leads the 'Eaters with a 74.17 scoring average (minimum six rounds played).

Darien Zhao was UC Irvine's top performer at the season-opening Nick Watney Invitational.
• Zhao, who tied for 15th overall, carded his second collegiate sub-70 score in the second round.
• Through two tournaments, he has a season average of 74.67.

Nathan Irwin also had a top-20 performance at the Nick Watney Invitational.
• Of the five Anteaters who have played six rounds this year, Irwin ranks second with a 74.33 average.
• Sophomore
Henry Fitzhugh has played in every tournament since his arrival on campus last year.
• Fitzhugh brings a 75.89 career average into the team's final competition of the 2021 calendar year.
• Four of the seven returning 'Eaters are seniors - Irwin,

• UC Irvine also welcomes two newcomers in
Johnny Bai and
Jin Nakao.
• Bai, a redshirt freshman, graduated from Lake Mary Preparatory School in Florida.
• He competed as an individual at the Nick Watney Invitational where he tied for 27th (220).
• Nakao is a true freshman out of Burbank High School where he was an individual league champion.
• He was among the Anteaters' top-three finishers in the first two tournaments, and registered a 75.00 average.
