ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The UC Irvine women's indoor track & field team topped a pair of school records on the second day of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Sophomore
Zani Meaders was 13th in the 400m, clocking in with a personal-best 55.59 (55.70 altitude-adjusted), which bettered her own school record from last season.
In the 4x400 relay, junior

Mychal Robinson, freshman
Tess Mathes and Meaders combined to run a time of 3:49.74 (3:50.18aa) to break a program record that had been in place since 2012. The quartet finished sixth in a field of 21 teams.
Robinson took ninth in the 60m hurdle prelims with a career-best 8.48 (8.50aa), moving up to second all-time in school history. She also competed in the 60m qualifying round, crossing the line in 8.03 seconds (8.05aa).
Freshman
Emily Ruff made her collegiate debut in the qualifying round of the 60m hurdles, placing third in her heat at 9.57 seconds (9.59aa).
In the mile, senior
Anastasia Karnaze registered a time of 5:27.37 (5:20.24aa) for a top-20 showing.
Freshman
Elizabeth Celada Padilla was the top finisher for the 'Eaters in the 800m, clocking in at 2:24.15 (2:23.35aa) to take 23rd. Senior
Brenda Dorantes was two spots behind her, logging a personal-record 2:28.70 (2:27.87aa).
Sophomore
Lorraine Nance led the Anteaters in the triple jump, coming in ninth with a season-best 37-05.75. Junior
Hanna Coloma (34-09) and freshman
Kayla Mixon (32-11) also competed in the triple jump.
Sophomore
Tayla Crenshaw finished fifth in her flight, and 17th overall, in the shot put with a toss of 37-03.25.
UC Irvine will be back in action, Feb. 7-8, when it heads back to Albuquerque to compete in the New Mexico Collegiate Classic.
