
Anteaters Start Beach Invitational, Wrap up Bryan Clay Invite

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's track & field team opened the two-day Beach Invitational with the hammer throw and 1500m Friday at LBSU's Jack Rose Track.
Junior Brianna Villanueva led the way in the hammer, placing 35th in a field of 86 with a toss of 175-05. Senior Barbara Coward, who has been working her way back from an injury, competed in the hammer for the first time since March 8 and finished with a top mark of 170-02 (47th).
Sophomore Daisy Garcia came in 10th in the 1500m in her outdoor debut (5:04.25).
At the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, freshman Natalie Ewe competed in the 1500m (4:51.55), while senior Hallie Pullum ran her second 800m in as many days, clocking in at 2:27.93.
The Anteaters will return to LBSU's Jack Rose Track tomorrow for the second and final day of the Beach Invitational.
