IRVINE, Calif. --- No. 14 UC Irvine dropped its final home game of the season to No. 8 Long Beach State, 11-8, Saturday afternoon at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
The Anteaters move to 7-14 on the season and 0-5 in the Golden Coast Conference, while the Beach improve to 16-12 overall and 2-3 in confernece play.

- UCI held the advantage in total shots, 32-25, but were less efficient with a .250 shooting percentage to LBSU's .440.
- Jon Polos recorded a team-high three goals, also adding one assist.
- Casey Lynton, Jason Evezard, Bryant Joudrie, Chad Gornay, and Foster Hoose each chipped in one goal each.
- Harrison Land played all four quarters in goal, recording seven saves.
- Rafael Real Vergara and Matt Morris paced the Beach with three goals each.
- Marwan Darwish spent the entire match in goal for LBSU, logging nine saves.
TURNING POINTS
QUARTER ONE
- LBSU jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before Joudrie scored on a powerplay to get the 'Eaters on the board.
- The Beach would score the next three goals, taking a 5-1 lead at 1:06.
- Polos would score with 50 seconds remaining to cut the deficit, 5-2.
- Neither team would score until LBSU's Matt Morris added a goal at 2:17 to extend the Beach lead, 6-2.
- Polos and Eduardo Wainberg traded goals to keep the Beach lead at 7-3.
- Goals from Evezard and Gornay brought the 'Eaters withing two, 7-5, with 3:43 remaining.
- Each team would add another goal before the end of the quarter, with LBSU taking an 8-6 lead to the final frame.
- Polos and Hoose would each add a goal, but LBSU outscored the 'Eaters 3-2 in the final quarter to secure an 11-8 victory.
