BOISE, Idaho – UC Irvine locked down to secure a 69-60 win over Boise State Friday evening at ExtraMile Arena.

With the win, UCI improves to 3-1 on the season while BSU falls to 1-2 overall.

The Anteaters shot 49.2 percent (29-59) from the floor overall and held the Broncos to 30.9 percent (17-55) overall.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
> Three 'Eaters finished in double-digit scoring as senior Eyassu Worku led the way with 15 points on 6-12 shooting from the field
> Brad Greene finished with 14 points while Collin Welp had 12. Greene has a team-best eight rebounds and Welp finished with a team-high five assists
> A total of 10 different Anteaters scored on the night
> Derrick Alston led the Broncos with a game-high 22 points

> UCI attacked from the start, leading the entire half and not allowing a BSU field goal until 16:54 to make it 6-2
> The 'Eaters would go on a 7-0 run that started with a jumper from Welp to take a double-digit 15-5 lead (15:00)
> The Broncos would cut the lead to single digits until Worku drained a three-pointer to start a 10-3 run for the 'Eaters that put them up 29-14 with 6:58 remaining
> UCI outscored BSU 8-6 down the stretch to take a 14-point, 28-24, lead into the locker rooms
> The Anteater defense held the Broncos to 0 percent shooting from three-point range and 23.3 percent (7-30) from the floor
> Worku had seven points in the half while Austin Johnson and Aiden Krause each had five rebounds

Second Half
> The Anteaters kept the pressure on scoring six-straight points to open the half forcing a BSU timeout at 18:04
> BSU went on a 14-4 run to bring the game within eight, 49-41, with 12:24 to play
> Jeron Artest hit a three-pointer to start a 9-4 run for the 'Eaters that put them ahead, 60-45, with 8:06 remaining
> Worku and Greene hit back-to-back jumpers to give the 'Eaters a 17-point lead with just under five minutes to play (4:57)
> BSU went on a 9-2 run down the stretch but UCI held on to win, 69-60
