Slow Start Dooms No. 13 UCI in Loss to No. 5 USC

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – No. 13 UC Irvine trailed 8-1 at halftime and could not overcome the deficit, ultimately suffering a 16-10 loss to No. 5 USC Saturday afternoon at Uytengsu Aquatics Center.
UCI drops to 6-6 on the season while the Trojans improve to 7-2 overall.

> Ivan Mercep finished with a career and team-high three goals. His brother, the Trojans' Jacob Mercep had a game-high four goals
> Jason Evezard notched two goals while Bryant Joudrie, Zlatan Nikcevic, Kiyan Mohebbizadeh, Chad Gornay and Jovan Gojkovich each had one
