IRVINE, Calif. -Β The UC Irvine men's tennis team has added a dual match at San Diego State this Saturday, Jan. 26. First serve is set for noon at Aztec Tennis Center.

Both the Anteaters (0-1) and Aztecs (0-1) are coming off season-opening losses. UCI fell to defending Mountain West champion Utah State, 5-2, on Sunday, Jan. 20. Mason Hansen and Daniel Gealer defeated Duro Opacic/Felipe Acosta, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles, but the Aggies won at the top two spots for the early lead. In singles, Sasha Krasnov cruised to a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Sergiu Bucur on court two, while Aaron Bailey recorded a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 comeback win at No. 6.

SDSU dropped a 5-2 decision to defending Big West champion UC Santa Barbara this past weekend. The Aztecs earned their points with singles victories from Sander Gjoels-Andersen (No. 4) and Rafael Gonzalez Almazan (No. 6).

This will be the 20th meeting between the two teams with San Diego State holding a 13-6 lead in the all-time series. They last met in 2017 when the Aztecs edged the 'Eaters, 4-3, in San Diego. Juniors Luis Lopez and Bruce Man-Son-Hing each won their singles matches.
