After a week off from competition, the 13-ranked UCI men's water polo team returns to action hosting local rival Concordia Thursday night at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
On Saturday, the Anteaters travel to second-ranked UCLA for another chance to take down the defending national champions at 1 p.m. at Spieker Aquatics Center.
WEEKEND STORYLINES
> UCI is 4-4 on the season and returns to action for the first time since Sept. 9 after a bye-week
> Concordia is 3-7 on the season with wins against La Verne and Redlands
> This marks the fourth-straight year the Anteaters welcome the Eagles to Anteater Aquatics Complex
> UCI has won all three previous meetings between the two teams
> UCI is 4-1 all-time against CUI and defeated the Eagles by a score of 16-5 last season
> Last season, the Anteaters upset top-ranked UCLA, 9-8, at Anteater Aquatics Complex
> UCI beat the Bruins for the first time since 2007, snapping a streak of 17 consecutive losses

The UC Irvine fan experience at home games will be bolstered by six exciting promotional giveaways to fans in attendance.
Newport Rib Company will be given to fans in attendance at Thursday night's game (while supplies last) against Concordia. Food will also be served at games against Pacific (Oct. 5), UC Santa Barbara (Nov. 2) and Cal Baptist (Nov. 7).
Two promotional giveaway items will also be made available during the season. A UCI Water Polo hat will be distributed to fans in attendance on Sept. 29 against Cal and a long sleeve UCI Water Polo shirt on Nov. 4 against USC.
All UCI home games are complimentary, but fans are required to register online to be eligible for the promotional items. Items will be distributed on a first-come-first serve basis to those who have pre-registered. Pre-registration does not guarantee fans an item. Fans may register for upcoming games HERE.
