Big West Service and Leadership Award Release
IRVINE, Calif. – Allie Loomis made the most of her four years as an Anteater.
Loomis, a four-year letter winner on the women's water polo team, not only graduated with a degree in business administration, but picked up a few honors along the way.
She was one of six student-athletes to earn the inaugural Big West Conference Service and Leadership Award, which honors those who best engage with other student-athletes, and are involved with their campus community and the community surrounding their institution.
Loomis was the recipient of a coveted NCAA postgraduate scholarship and was nominated for the 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year.Â
She joined men's tennis player Sebastian Heim as one of 49 UCI seniors honored with the Chancellor's Award of Distinction. The award is given to graduating seniors who exhibit a commitment to cutting-edge research, leadership or service to UCI. Loomis was also named a UC Irvine Scholar-Athlete and earned Big West Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll Highest Honors.Â

At the 2017 NCAA Championships, Loomis received the Elite 90 award for having the highest GPA among all participating student-athletes at the championship. As a recipient of the award, she was asked to attend the 2018 Men's College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska nd was recognized on the field.
She was accepted to the University Of New South Wales Australian Graduate School Of Management where she plans to pursue her MBA in Sydney, Australia starting in August.
In the pool, Loomis finished with 47 career goals including 28 this season. The Anteaters won two Big West tournament titles and made three NCAA appearances while she was a member of the squad.Â
