SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Irvine men's tennis team was swept by UC Santa Barbara, 7-0, in a Big West road match, Sunday at the Rec Center Courts.

With the loss, UCI drops to 13-10 on the season and 0-2 in the Big West. UCSB improves to 11-6 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The Gauchos took the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 2. On court three,
Luis Lopez and
Daniel Gealer were tied, 4-4, with Victor Krustev and Joseph Gullin when the match was called.
Luca Marquard and
Mason Hansen dropped a 6-2 decision at the top spot.

UCSB won in all six singles matches to secure the win. First, Joseph Gullin took down Sasha Krasov, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 before
Luca Marquard fell on court three to Simon Freud, 6-0, 6-3. The Gauchos clinched the match when Nicolas Moreno defeated UCI's Lopez, 6-3, 6-3, at the top spot.

Vatsal Bajpai battled in three sets against Hironori Koyanagi at the No. 6 spot, but ultimately fell short, 6-1, 1-6, 6-4. Gealer and Hansen dropped at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.
