LONG BEACH, Calif. - Junior Barbara Coward continued to produce top performances in the discus and hammer to lead the UC Irvine women's track & field team Thursday at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate at Jack Rose Track.

Coward beat out 52 other competitors to claim her third discus title of the year. She improved on her Big West-leading mark with a season-best and meet recordΒ 173-07, which now separates her from the rest of the conference by over 12 feet.

Coward also took ninth out of 49 in the hammer throw with a toss of 186-10, marking the second time in three meets she has surpassed the 180-foot mark. Coward broke the school record two weeks ago at the Big West Challenge with a PR of 187-07.

Sophomore Brianna Villanueva was 19th in the discus (149-06) and 41st in the hammer (147-06), while junior Elizabeth Akindele came in 23rd in the shot put (45-02.5).

On the track, senior Tyra Jones ran a wind-aided season-best 13.77 to place seventh overall in the 100m hurdles. Sophomore Iyana Cooksey (15.17) and freshman Shayla Oliver (15.98) were 27th and 32nd, respectively. Freshman Hanna Coloma addedΒ a season-best 16.66.

Junior Hallie Pullum clocked in at 60.10 to finish 21st in her first 400m race of the 2018Β campaign. Sophomore Cecily Montanez followed in 26th (61.99).

Senior Sophia Zhou was the Anteaters' top runner in the 200m where she notched a personal-record 26.52. Freshman Jenelle King also ran both the 200m (27.42) and 100m (13.30).

Over in Azusa, UC Irvine had four distance runners entered in the Bryan Clay Invitational (Live Results).

Junior Megan Mirkhanian paced a trio of 'Eaters in the 5000m, crossing the finish line in 18:31.77. Sophomore Keely Boyd also came in at 18:54.29, while senior Jenessa Reyes posted a season-best 19:55.83.

Sophomore Anastasia Karnaze competed in the 3000m steeplechase (11:18.01).
