EUGENE, Ore. - Freshman Joy Anderson and senior Jolie Robinson both completed the final three events of their first career NCAA Championship heptathlon Saturday at Hayward Field.
Β
Anderson placed 19th with 5,554 points, while Robinson was 22nd with 5,313 points in the two-day, seven-event competition.
Β
Anderson started the afternoon with a leap of 5.17 meters (16-11.5) in the long jump. She then had a toss of 33.72m (110-7) in the javelin, before crossing the 800m finish line in 2:15.22. Her time was third in Section 1 and ninth overall.
Β
Robinson opened with her best long jump mark of the day at 5.72 meters (18-9.25). In the javelin, her top throw came in the final round where she hit 40.05m (131-4). That was the 10th-best throw in the field. In the last event, Robinson clocked an 800m time of 2:32.27.
Β
Anderson wrapped up an impressive freshman campaign in which she was the 2026 Big West heptathlon champion and the 2026 MPSF indoor pentathlon champion. She took down a 17-year-old school record in her first career heptathlon in April before breaking her own standard with a personal-best 5,750 points a month later at the conference meet. Anderson also made her way into UCI's all-time top-10 in the high jump (T4th), 200m (6th), and 100m hurdles (8th).
Β
Robinson will graduate as one of the most decorated heptathletes in program history. She is a four-time All-Big West performer, winning the conference title in 2023 and 2024, and finishing second in 2025 and 2026. She ranks second among the Anteaters' top-10 with a lifetime-best 5,647 points. Robinson is also fourth in school history in both the long jump and javelin. She is a two-time Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Meet and was named the Big West Field Athlete of the Year in 2023.
