Box Score LONG BEACH, Calif. – The UC Irvine women's tennis team suffered a 6-0 setback to Long Beach State in a Big West Conference match Friday afternoon at Rhodes Tennis Center.

The teams decided to contest singles first due to the impending weather. UCI (5-5, 0-1) dropped all six singles contests to ultimately suffer its first conference defeat. LBSU (4-5, 2-1) was up in Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, 2-1, 3-0, respectively, before the match was called due to rain. No. 3 doubles was tied at 2-2. 

In her first match back after battling injury, Vivien Dvali dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision in the No. 3 spot while Stephanie Hazell fell in the top spot to LBUS's Lena Pacholski, 6-2, 6-2.

On court two, Stephanie Nguyen battled with the 49ers' Natalie Munoz but could not hold on, dropping a 6-1, 6-2 decision.

LBSU's Carlota Casasampeke clinched the match in the No. 6 spot after defeating Arianna Tilbury, 6-0, 7-5.

UCI returns home to host Villanova Sunday, March 4 at 10 a.m.
