The UC Irvine men's tennis team heads to Los Angeles, Calif., for their final preseason tournament of the year. The Anteaters will compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships at Marks Stadium from Oct. 25-Oct. 29.

- Six Anteaters will be competing this week at the SoCal Intercollegiate Championships.
- Eight 'Eaters who played at the ITA Southwest Regionals won singles matches.

Sasha Krasnov went 3-2 overall in singles at the ITA Southwest Regionals, making it to the semifinals of the consolation bracket.

Daniel Gealer leads the Anteaters in singles wins with five. He also has three wins in doubles with partner
Bruce Man-Son-Hing.
- Anteater tandem Lopez/Smolicki are tied with Gealer/Man-Son-Hing for most doubles wins with three.
- UCI will have three tandems competing in doubles at the SoCal Intercollegiate Championships.

Luis Lopez was named Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week on Oct. 16 after making the championships in the top flights of both singles and doubles at the SDSU Invitational.

Daniel Gealer made the championships in both singles and doubles in his flights at the SDSU Invitational.

Mateusz Smolicki won the doubles Red Flight at the SDSU Invitational.
- UC Irvine was the only school that saw players make the championship in all four flights at the SDSU Invitational.
AT THE ITA SOUTHWEST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
UC Irvine faced off in its second preseason tournament of the year last week, where UCI struggled in doubles matches, going 0-4 overall. Junior
Sasha Krasnov led the Anteaters in singles play, advancing to the semifinals of the consolation bracket before falling to eventual champion Jan Kirchoff of San Diego State.

UC Irvine will have time to practice and regroup before beginning regular season play on Jan. 20, as they host Utah State at the Anteater Tennis Complex.
