
Lovre Milos Leads No. 10 UC Irvine Past No. 15 Cal Baptist

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Senior Lovre Milos led the Anteaters with a season-high seven goals in No. 10 UC Irvine's 21-4 victory over No. 15 Cal Baptist at the Lancer Aquatic Center.
The Anteaters are 6-2 overall and extend their winning streak to five in a row.
Milos led the Anteaters for the seventh time this season, recording a season-high seven goals.
Freshman Fynn Schuetze followed with a career-high five goals and Miles Kalbus matched season-best with a pair of goals.
Antoine Lena, Brendan Duffy, Jack Trush, Jon Polos, Jack Baumgardner, Ian Fleenor and Foster Hoose rounded out the scoring.
UCI opened a 7-1 lead at the end of the first period on the strength of four Lovre Milos goals.
He tacked on another at 5:12 of the second quarter to make the margin 9-2. Ian Fleenor found the back of the net at 4:14 before Matej Matijevic stopped a penalty shot to keep the score 10-2 at the end of the first half.
Jack Trush scored on a backhand at 3:17 before back-to-back goals by Miles Kalbus (2:47, 1:49) and one by Foster Hoose found the left corner of the cage at 1:10. With one second left on the clock, Brendan Duffy scored at center to increase the Anteater lead to 15-3 heading in to the final period.
In the fourth quarter, Jon Polos (6:31), Fynn Schuetze (5:56) and Jack Baumgardner (3:14) scored then Milos ended the scoring with two more goals (2:49, 1:41).
UCI will be back in action Friday-Sunday (Sept. 22-24) at the Mountain Pacific Invitational hosted by USC and LMU. UCI starts the tournament against UC Santa Barbara on Friday at 2:15 p.m.
