The Anteaters (16-6, 2-0) didn't fool around and jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first quarter. Gabby Pierandozzi (5:38), Mary Brooks (5:19 & 0:27), Cambria Shockley (4:33 & 3:52) and Kelsey Thornton (1:25) each scored goals for UCI.
UCI stretched it to a 9-0 lead on goals by Natalie Seidemann (5:55), Corinna Toledo (4:04) and Brooks (3:22) before the Matadors finally got on the board at 3:08. Shockley would record a hat trick with a goal at 2:40 then Allie Loomis would hit the back of the net at 2:00. CSUN would close out the period with a goal to make it 11-2.
CSUN scored three unanswered goals in the third period to close within 11-5, before UCI scored four unanswered in the final period to win 15-5. Brooks would notch her fourth goal of the day at 7:28 followed by Keana Eldridge (5:88), Thornton (5:33) and Tess de Lange (2:09).
Annika Nelson made her season debut in goal for UCI recording five saves.
