Man-Son-Hing Leads 'Eaters on Day 2 of Aztec Invite

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Sophomore Bruce Man-Son-Hing won his consolation semifinal match to lead the UC Irvine men's tennis team Saturday at the Aztec Fall Invitational.

Man-Son-Hing picked up his second singles victory of the weekend after dispatching Marius Ruh of UC San Diego, 6-1, 6-3, to advance to the Flight 2 consolation final, which will be played on Sunday morning.

Junior Vatsal Bajpai trailed 6-3, 3-1 before an injury forced him to retire in his Flight 1 consolation match. In an extra match, junior Sasha Krasnov bounced back from a tough first-set loss, but was unable to complete the comeback in a 7-6 (2), 1-6, 10-2 setback to Grand Canyon's Gregoire Balenci.

In Flight 2 doubles, Krasnov teamed up with senior Mason Hansen to take down Higgins/Tengbumroong (UCSD), 7-5. That pitted the 'Eater duo against San Diego's Keerasuntonpong/Kurtz in the consolation final where they dropped a narrow 7-5 decision. Bajpai and Man-Son-Hing also came up short vs. Arouzos/Holmgren (USD) in their Flight 1 quarterfinal match.

UC Irvine is back in action tomorrow for the final day of the Aztec Fall Invitational.
