LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- UCI couldn't ride the wave of beating a ranked team dropping a 4-3 match to UNLV, Sunday morning, to conclude the UNLV Rebel Classic.
UCI (4-7, 1-0) earned its first doubles point of the season with a swift sweep of the Rebels.
UNLV (4-3) fought back with a few straight set victories. Rafael Davidian and Tyler Pham snagged straight set wins to even the match at 3-3.
Sebastian Heim's strong run to start the season rolled into his match with an opening set win, but UNLV's No. 1 Ace Matias rebounded to steal the point and match from the 'Eaters.
UCI returns to SoCal next week with another ranked opponent on the docket tripping up to No. 48 Pepperdine on Sat. feb. 21 for a 10:00 a.m. Match.
