
UC Irvine Closes Out Road Slate At Cal Poly, UCSB

- The Anteaters (11-12, 5-6) will make their final road trip of the season this week when the team travels to Cal Poly Friday (Nov. 6) and UC Santa Barbara Saturday (Nov. 7).
- UCI recorded 11 service aces against CSUN for its second-highest total this year.
- The team's best performance from the service line was a 12-ace effort against Cal State Fullerton.
- UCI has won four of the last six contests and is currently fifth in the Big West standings.
- The Anteaters are fourth in the conference in blocking (2.06) and hitting percentage (.234).
- The team is fifth in kills (12.83) and assists (12.26).
KEKAUOHA COLLECTS BIG WEST FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK NOD
- Harlee Kekauoha led UCI last week with 35 kills and averaged 5.00 kills per set to earn her second conference Playler of the Week honor.
- The freshman posted a double-double against Long Beach State, recording 15 kills and 14 digs.
- She returned against the Matadors with a personal-high 20 kills while hitting .531 for her third-highest percentage this year.
- The opposite combined for a .460 average in the two matches.
- Kekauoha recorded an ace in each of the matches and has logged a service winner in five consecutive contests.
- She leads the team with 283 kills, 28 aces and is third with 168 digs.
LATOUR BREAKS OUT FOR CAREER-BEST
- Lena Latour had a break-out match, putting away a personal-high 12 kills against the Beach.
- The sophomore had just two errors in 31 attempts to hit .323, her second-highest hitting percentage.
- Latour chipped in six kills against CSUN with one miscue and had a pair of block assists in both contests.
FROST FREEZES MATADORS
- Samantha Frost stymied the Matadors with five aces for a career-high.
- The defensive specialist eclipsed her previous best of two aces, recorded against Seattle earlier this season.
- Frost has fired 10 aces on the year to go along with 80 digs.
ANDERSON HAS PERSONAL-HIGH IN NEAR TRIPLE-DOUBLE
- Shelley Anderson crossed up Long Beach State with a career-high eight kills while hitting .462.
- The junior also handed out 38 assists and had 10 digs to fall just two kills shy of a triple-double.
- Anderson recorded her second 38-assist match in as many games in the sweep of CSUN while logging eight digs and three kills.
- Anderson moved to fourth in the Big West with a 8.96 assist average and has an even 600 assists on the year.
HAKIM HITS DOUBLE-DIGITS
- Chloe Hakim reached double-figure digs in both matches last week, scooping up an identical 10 in each contest.
- Hakim, who is fifth on the team with 108 digs has recorded 10 or more digs in five the last six matches.
- She has hit double-digits in digs seven times this year with a career-high 16 at Hawai'i.
IN THE BIG WEST
- Ella Rosenfeld is holding steady at fifth in the Big West with a .327 hitting percentage.
- Kekauoha jumped from ninth to sixth in hitting and now owns a .317 clip.
- Kekauoha is also fourth in the conference with a .33 ace average and is seventh in kills at 3.29.
- Luna Tsujimoto moved up one spot to fourth with a 3.93 dig average.
- Tsujimoto led the Anteaters in both matches last week, recording 16 digs against LBSU and 15 in the sweep of CSUN.
- Emily Blair sits at No. 8 with a .7.26 average.
- Victoria Dennis is in the top 10 in kills at 3.01 to grab the eighth spot in the league.
ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
- Cal Poly is 16-5 overall and 8-2 in the Big West.
- The third-place Mustangs are led by Adlee Van Winden, who has 306 kills and is averaging 3.97 per set.
- Cal Poly is second in the Big West in hitting percentage at .252 and opponent hitting percentage at .178.
- The Mustangs lead the league in assists (12.97) and are paced by Taylor Nelson's 828 assists.
- Cal Poly has won eight of its last nine matches.
- UCI suffered a 3-0 sweep earlier this season and trail 40-23 in the series records.
GLANCING AT THE GAUCHOS
- UC Santa Barbara is 6-15 on the year with a 2-8 conference record.
- The Gauchos are third in aces in the Big West, boasting a 1.42 average and are the third-best blocking team at 2.11.
- Ali Barbeau paces the Gauchos with 220 kills and a 2.82 per-set average.
- Emilia Petrachi leads the team and is second in the conference with a 4.53 dig average.
- Saturday's meeting marks the first between UCI and UCSB this year.
- The two teams each captured a win on its home court in 2014 but UCSB leads 68-10 all-time.
