Trio of 'Eaters at USA Junior Championships

USA Junior Outdoor Championships Information
IRVINE, Calif. --- Three members of the UC Irvine men's track and field team are in Eugene, Ore., for the USA Junior Outdoor Championships this weekend.
All three are coming off their freshman seasons with the Anteaters as Lloyd Sicard is entered in the 110-meter hurdles, Brandon Howard in the 400-meter hurdles and Isaiah Thompson in the 800 meters.
Howard is scheduled to compete in the first round of the 400 hurdles at 2:50 p.m. Saturday at Hayward Field in Eugene.
Sicard's first round of the 110 hurdles is at 4:55 p.m. and Thompson's first 800-meter race is at 6:10 p.m., also on Saturday.
The 110 hurdles final is Sunday at 4:25 p.m. with the 800 meters at 4:45 p.m. and the 400 hurdles at 5:00 p.m.
Sicard, the 2014 Big West Conference Freshman of the Year, had a top time this spring of 14.01 in the 110 hurdles that ranks No. 3 in UCI history. He was runner-up in the event at the Big West Championships.
Howard, who placed fifth in the 400 hurdles in the Big West Championships, has a top time in 2014 of 52.94 that he posted in finishing sixth at the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational May 3.
Thompson, the Big West Freshman of the Year in cross country, recorded a best time in the 800 of 1:49.87 that he registered in finishing seventh of 66 competitors at the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational. He was third in the 800 at the Big West Championships.
