LA JOLLA, Calif. --- UCI opened up the Triton Invitational with a 17-point victory over the Pioneers of Cal State East Bay.

The 'Eaters posted six or more goals in three different periods during the drubbing. Michaela Pierandozzi had a hat trick on her own in the first period as part of her four goals on the match, a career-high for her. Danielle Warde matched her to lead the scoring in the match including a hat trick in the third period.

Twelve Anteaters got into the action with goals. Jillian Yocum and Annika Nelson stopped eight shots altogether.

UC Irvine (7-2) awaits the winner of the Long Beach State-UC Davis match and will play them later today at 3:10 p.m.
