UC Irvine will host Bakersfield Tuesday (Dec. 16) at 7:00 p.m. in the Bren Events Center before traveling to the BTI Invitational hosted by Purdue Friday-Sunday (Dec. 19-21) in Mackey Arena.

Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or stuffed animal to the Bakersfield game to be donated to the UCI Medical Center. In conjunction with the UCI Police Department, UCI student-athletes will be handing out the animals to the children at the hospital.

It is a busy week with the Anteaters playing four games in six days while taking finals.

CSU Bakersfield defeated UC Irvine 80-70 on Dec. 3 in Bakersfield and lead the all-time series, 8-2 over the Anteaters.

The Roadrunners are 6-3 overall after dropping a pair of games on the road last week at Omaha (80-68) and Nebraska (54-45).

Sophomore Irene Chavez posted a career-high 21 points in the last game against Bakersfield, going 8-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-6 from the line. Senior forward Methlyn Onogomuho picked up her second double- double of the season against CSUB, scoring 16 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Sophomore Mokun Fajemisin also recorded a double-double with 14 points and a career-best 13 rebounds, her second of the season.

UCI had 43 points in the second half against the Roadrunners, the most the club has recorded in a half this season.

The Anteaters will play at 9:00 a.m. PT each day at the BTI Invitational taking on Purdue Friday, Wright State Saturday and Denver on
Sunday.

This will be the first time the Anteaters have battled the Boilermakers and Raiders.

Purdue is 4-4 overall and coming off a 61-48 win over Kansas.

Wright State starts the week with a 5-2 record and will host Otterbein Monday night.

The Pioneers are 2-7 overall and will travel to Weber State Monday before heading to Indiana.

UCI beat Denver 78-73 last year in Denver to even the series record to 1-1 overall.

UCI is currently on a seven game losing streak. It is the longest losing skid since the Anteaters dropped eight in a row from Jan. 3-Jan. 31, 2013.

UCI suffered an 87-64 loss to San Diego last Sunday.

Four Anteaters posted double-digit scoring versus the Toreros led by Shereen Sutherland with a career-high 17 points, hitting 6-9 from the floor. Mokun Fajemisin totaled14 points, a team-high six rebounds and two blocks. Madison McKenney went 5-10 from the field and scored 10 points, while Tierra Hicks recorded a career-high 10 points in 19 minutes off the bench.

Fajemisin leads the team with an 11.3 scoring average. She ranks 13th among Big West players in points and eighth in rebounding (7.0).

Onogomuho is tied with Fajemisin at 7.0 rebounds per game and leads the squad in steals at 1.44 per game.

Raelyn Cheung-Sutton ranks sixth in the conference in assists (3.56) and 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.19).

UCI is ranked fourth in the conference in steals (7.22) and fifth in blocked shots (3.00).

UCI is third in the Big West in defensive rebounds with a 26.44 average.

UCI has made the fewest three-pointers in the Big West with 18 over the first nine games. Jenny Dee leads the squad with eight.
