
UC Irvine Travels to Cal State Fullerton For Week's Lone Match

- The Anteaters travel to Cal State Fullerton this Saturday for a match against the Titans.
- UCI remains in fifth in the Big West with a 7-6 mark and is 17-11 overall.
- With three matches remaining the Anteaters will finish with the second-highest number of wins in head coach Paula Weishoff's six-year tenure.
- Weishoff's 2009 team posted 22 wins.
- UCI is first in the Big West in digs (16.21) and second in assists (12.75) and kills (13.66).
- The Anteaters are also third in opponent hitting percentage (.188) and fourth in hitting percentage (.242) and aces (1.35).
- Currently the Big West leader in digs at 4.46, Arden Davis jumped into the UCI single-season top 10 this week.
- After logging 33 scoops in two matches, the sophomore went from 11th to No. 8 with 468 digs this year.
- She takes over the spot held by Devon Sutherland, who had 454 digs in 2008 and now eyes the No. 7 slot, currently held by Kristin Winkler (2009), who recorded 479 digs.
- Davis needs 32 digs to reach the 500-dig milestone.
- She is third on the team with 20 aces.
ANDERSON PULLS AWAY FROM REST IN BIG WEST
- Shelley Anderson tops the conference with a 10.66 setting average.
- She is the only player in the league to have 1000 assists or more and currently holds court with 1,034.
- Anderson has posted 18 aces to sit fourth on the team and has totaled 42 blocks to also place fourth among the Anteater leaders.
MANZ TIES SEASON-HIGH
- Arielle Manz tied a season-high with five block assists in the effort against the Aggies en route to a season-best seven total blocks.
- Manz previously topped out at five total blocks against UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Fullerton.
- Against the Aggies, she had two solo blocks and five block assists.
- With one block assist against UC Riverside, Manz now has 241 over her four-year career and is 10th in the Anteater annals.
- Manz is fourth on the team with 146 kills and is ninth in the Big West with a .311 hitting percentage.
PICKRELL TAKES OVER THIRD WITH THREE OF A KIND
- Cassidy Pickrell had three aces against the Aggies and pulled ahead of teammate Allison Lee in the Big West in ace average.
- Pickrell tops the conference in total aces with 40 but is third with a .38 average.
- She also is fifth in kills at 3.46 and sixth in points at 4.02.
- Among the team leaders, Pickrell has a team-high 363 kills and sits in second in kill average.
- She is also third with 292 digs to go along with 28 total blocks.
LEE TOPS TEAM ON SENIOR NIGHT
- Allison Lee made the most of Senior Night, leading the team with 11 kills against UC Riverside.
- Lee paces the Anteaters with 19 matches with double-figure kills.
- She sits in the No. 4 spot in the Big West with a .37 ace average, is 10th with a 3.06 kill average and holds steady at ninth, averaging 3.69 points per set.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
- The Anteaters are ranked 57th in country in kills (13.66), 60th in the country in digs (16.21) and 66th in hitting percentage (.242).
- UCI is also 63rd in assists (12.75).
- Cassidy Pickrell climbed to 41st in the nation in total aces with 40 while Allison Lee is 45th with 39.
- Pickrell and Lee are also among the nation's top players in aces per set at 48th and 58th, respectively.
- Marisa Bubica is 49th in the country in kill average (4.03) and 72nd in points per set at 4.28.
- Shelley Anderson is 63rd in assist average.
ABOUT THE TITANS
- Cal State Fullerton is eighth in the Big West with a 2-11 record and is 8-18 overall.
- The Titans are led by Niki Withers, who has 367 kills and is averaging 3.82 per set.
- CSF snapped a five-match losing streak against UC Riverside last week, sweeping the Highlanders and improving to 3-8 in three-set contests.
- UCI is 44-28 against the Titans after posting a 3-1 win earlier this year.
