UC IRVINE FACES WAVES SATURDAY
● Tenth-ranked UC Irvine travels to No. 11 Pepperdine Saturday for a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game in Malibu at 12 p.m.
● This will be the third meeting of the season between the teams. UCI edged the Waves, 12-11, in sudden-death overtime at the NorCal Classic Sept. 21 and the Anteaters also prevailed, 16-9, at the SoCal Tournament Oct. 12.
● UCI is coming off losses to Long Beach State, 8-6, and California, 19-15, last weekend.
● Following Saturday's game, Coach Marc Hunt's 'Eaters have a non-conference game at UC San Diego Nov. 8 and an MPSF contest at home against USC Nov. 9.
UC IRVINE TEAM NOTES
● Sophomore Lovre Milos leads UCI and the MPSF with 77 goals and a scoring average of 3.67 per game. He has scored at least five goals in nine games this season.
● Freshman Matt Skinner has scored 34 goals and he is 19th in the MPSF with a scoring average of 1.62.
● Senior Jacob Mourer has 32 goals for the 'Eaters this year and he ranks 23rd in the MPSF at 1.52 goals per game.
● Other double-digit scorers for UCI are sophomore Kyle Trush (24), senior Alan Robertson (21), junior Jared Osborn (20), junior Larson Pfeil (18), freshman Ryan Warde (16), and senior Justin Papa and junior Pablo Carballo with 11 each.
● Freshman goalie Byron Rivers ranks first in the MPSF with an average of 12.12 saves per contest and junior Dylan Peterson is second with an average of 12.00 saves per game.
