- UC Irvine, winners of five straight, are in a three-way tie for third in the Big West Conference at 5-3, sharing the spot with CSUN and UC Davis.
- The Anteaters travel to San Diego State tonight for a non-conference match-up and then return to the Bren Center to face second-place Hawai'i this Friday.
- A win against the Aztecs would match the longest win streak under Paula Weishoff.
- Her 2009 team logged six straight victories to open the season.
- UCI posted 11 total team blocks against Cal State Fullerton, the third time the team has reached double-figures this year.
- The season-best was a 13-block effort against Utah State, in which the Anteaters put up two solo blocks and 22 block assists.
- The UCI-Hawaii match will be aired on ESPN3 with Trent Schlom and Kathy Gregory calling the action.
- Cassidy Pickrell led UCI to a 3-1 win against Cal State Fullerton, tying a career-high with 25 kills and was named the Big West Player of the Week.
- The outside hitter, who earned her first weekly award, posted a hit .377 clip against the Titans, hitting better than .300 for the fifth time this year.
- Pickrell logged a season-high with 53 attempts in the win against CSF.
- Pickrell first recorded her career-high as a freshman in 2013 against the Titans.
- She is tied for third in the Big West in aces and climbed one spot to third in kills at 3.72.
- Pickrell is ranked 68th in the country and third in the Big West in points per set (4.34).
ANDERSON TOPS BLOCKERS WITH CAREER-BEST
- Shelley Anderson doubled her single-match total after logging eight against the Titans.
- The setter had two solo blocks and six block assists, both career-highs for the sophomore.
- She also recorded her seventh double-double match of the year with 39 assists and 11 digs while chipping in four kills.
- Anderson is the Big West leader in assists at 11.13.
LEE POSTS CAREER-HIGH IN ACES, MOVES UP BIG WEST LADDER
- Allison Lee aced the Titans four times last week, setting a new personal-best for the senior.
- With 35 aces on the year, Lee moves into a tie for third in the conference with a .43 average and shares the team lead with Pickrell.
- Lee logged 11 kills and 13 digs for her team-high 11th double-double.
- Lee is third on the team with 258 kills and is averaging 3.15 per set.
- She is second on the team with 275 digs and is third with 43 total blocks.
ROSENFELD PUTS TOGETHER ANOTHER ERRORLESS MATCH
- Ella Rosenfeld converted six of 13 attempts with no miscues to hit .462 in the win against the Titans.
- It is the second consecutive match that Rosenfeld has been error-free offensively after hitting .500 (5-0-10) in the sweep of UC Davis.
- Rosenfeld recorded three block assists to help UCI to an 11-3 advantage at the net and leads UCI with 45 total blocks and a .75 average.
MANZ BREAKS INTO TOP 10
- Arielle Manz posted five block assists last week and moved into the No. 10 spot in the UCI career records.
- With 224 block assists in her career, Manz passes Cindy Rohrig, who had 223 from 1982-85.
- Manz is second on the team with a 44 blocks and boasts a team-high .325 hitting percentage, fifth-best in the Big West.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
- UCI is 19th in the country in kill average (14.18) and 20th in assists (13.17).
- The Anteaters are 37th in hitting percentage (.258) and 47th in digs per set (16.34).
- Lee and Pickrell are ranked 21st in the country in aces with 35 and 30th in ace average (.43).
- Anderson is 22nd in assist average 11.13 and 88th in total assists with 835.
- Marisa Bubica is 49th in kill average (4.01) while Pickrell is 77th (3.72).
ABOUT THE AZTECS
- San Diego State is 9-10 overall and have won four of the last six matches.
- The team is led by Halle Aiken, who has 160 kills on the year.
- Kaja Sandberg is the team leader in blocks with 65 an da .96 average.
- UCI trails 14-5 in the all-time series against the Aztecs with SDSU beating UCI, 3-0, in 2012.
ABOUT THE RAINBOW WAHINE
- Hawai'i is 14-5 overall and 6-2 in the Big West to sit in second place.
- The 'Bows are led by Tai Manu-Olevao, who is averaging 3.54 kills per set and .57 aces per set.
- Olivia Magill is the conference leader with a .400 hitting percentage and in blocks at 1.47.
- Hawaii is undefeated against UCI at 29-0 after sweeping the Anteaters earlier this year.
