
Pickrell Ties Career-High, Garners Big West Player of the Week Nod

IRVINE, Calif. --- Cassidy Pickrell was named the Big West Player of the Week after leading UC Irvine to its fifth straight win last week against Cal State Fullerton.
Pickrell tied a career-high with 25 kills, matching a personal best she set in 2013 also against the Titans. In the win last week, the outside hitter was on fire with a .377 hitting percentage, committing just five errors in 53 attempts.
Pickrell also added a service ace, a solo stuff and six digs in the victory. She is ranked 21st in the country in total aces with 35 and 30th in ace average at .43. Pickrell also boasts a 4.34 points average and is 68th in the nation.
The Big West honor is the first for Pickrell.
UC Irvine is on the road tonight at San Diego State (6:00 PM) in search of its sixth straight win and then returns to take on Hawaii Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Bren Center.
