THIS WEEK

● UC Irvine, 8-0 on the season, opens the week with a non-conference game at Chapman University Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

● Coach Marc Hunt's 'Eaters then travel to the Bay Area for the NorCal Tournament, hosted by Cal, Saturday and Sunday.

● UCI begins NorCal action Saturday at 9:25 a.m. against Pepperdine at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill.  Based on results, the 'Eaters will then face either USC or Diablo Valley College later that afternoon at Diablo Valley.

● On Sunday, games in the first, third, fifth and seventh-place brackets will be played at Spieker Pool on the University of California campus.  The other side of the bracket will compete at Diablo Valley College.


LAST WEEKEND

● The 'Eaters completed their second consecutive weekend with four wins at the Inland Empire Classic.

● UCI defeated La Verne, 24-3, and California Baptist, 13-4, on Saturday at La Verne.

● On Sunday, the 'Eaters downed Occidental, 20-4, and Pomona-Pitzer, 25-7, in games at Redlands.


STATS LEADERS

● Senior driver Mitch Wise, a two-time All-American, scored 11 goals last weekend and leads UCI with 25 for the season.  Wise has 187 goals in his 'Eater career.

● Senior Bojan Hrlec, an honorable mention All-American last season, also notched 11 goals last weekend and has 20 on the year.  He scored a career-high seven goals in last Sunday's victory over Pomona-Pitzer.

● Freshman Kyle Trush has 13 goals in his initial collegiate season after scoring five last weekend, including four in the win over Pomona-Pitzer.

● Sophomore Tyler Mancuso, with 12 goals this season, scored six for the second straight weekend, including three in Saturday's win over California Baptist.

● Sophomore Jared Osborn has 11 goals for the season after scoring four in the Inland Empire Classic.

● Sophomore Larson Pfeil has 10 goals, five each in the first two weekends of the season.

● Senior goalkeeper Alex Kazmier has 41 saves in four games, including 16 stops in the win over St. Francis Brooklyn Sept. 7.

● Junior goalie Michael Bailey has 39 stops for the season in four games and he recorded 15 saves in last Saturday's win over California Baptist.

● Sophomore goalie Dylan Peterson played in two games, with one start, this past weekend and had 12 saves.


LOOKING AHEAD

● UCI opens Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play Oct. 5 at USC (1:00 p.m.)

● The 'Eaters host the UC Irvine Invitational Oct. 12-13 at the Anteater Aquatics Complex and Corona del Mar High School.  The tournament will feature most of the top 16 teams in the nation.
