EXHIBITING GREATNESS
- The Anteaters drew 571 fans against Texas A&M last Wednesday. UCI averaged 592 fans per home match in 2013 ranking fourth in the Big West.
- The 'Eaters went 1-0-1 in their exhibition matches following a scoreless draw with No. 12 Texas A&M and a 2-0 win at Fresno State.
- Jenn Randazzo played all 180 minutes in goal stopping all 10 shots.
- Natalia Ledezma led all 'Eaters with five shots and three shots on goal last week.
- There were more fouls between the Aggies and Anteaters in the second half (18) than in all three other halves combined (17).
- Victoria Russo and Jasmine Nickelberry connected on the 27th-minute goal on Friday, the first points for either player as an Anteater.

30TH ANNIVERSARY

EARLY RETURNS
- The 'Eaters bring back six starters from the 2012 squad including preseason award-winners Natalia Ledezma, Haley O'Brien, and Corey Tobin.
- Ledezma was named the preseason favorite for Big West Offensive Player of the Year according to collegesportsmadness.com.
- UC Irvine's non-conference schedule ranked as the ninth-toughest according to allwhitekit.com.
- Laura McGrail led the 2012 team with six goals. She also led all Big West players with four game-winning goals.
SUBBING IN
- UCI adds 11 players to the roster including eight freshmen and three transfers.
- Midfielder Bianca Frontino and forward Meg Pierce come in as juniors from junior colleges.
- Michelle Bagheri is a sophomore transfer from Cal State San Bernardino as a defender.
- Most of the freshmen hail from California with the exception of Naomi Bakr, a native of Cairo, Egypt.
- The newcomer position breakdown shows three forwards, three midfielders, and five defenders.
IN THE BOOKS
- Natalia Ledezma currently sits in a tie for fifth all-time with 16 assists for UCI, one behind Nicole Bucciarelli. The all-time assists leader is Simone Ferrera with 27.
- Corey Tobin and Jenn Randazzo rank third and fourth all-time in goalkeeper win percentage.
- Anteater keepers have posted a goals-against-average under 1.00 in five of the last six seasons.
- The 'Eaters played eight overtime matches in 2012, the most since nine in 2003.
OPPOSING VIEWS
- The 'Eaters host Cal and UNLV this week and have a combined record of 1-10-2 against them.
- UCI has drawn in the most recent meeting with each team.
- UCI and Cal last met in 2010 on a Cal team that featured Alex Morgan. She scored both goals in the match for the Bears.

- CoCo Goodson was drafted by Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer League based in New Jersey. Sky Blue FC earned a spot in the playoffs and will face the Western New York Flash in the first round Sat. Aug. 24 at 5:00 p.m.
- Rachel Wood joined club HK Kopavogur / Vikingur Reykjavik of Iceland. The club is currently ninth in the Urvalsdeild league in Iceland. Wood scored her first professional goal Aug. 13th in the 51st minute against Thor / KA.
- Former 'Eater keeper Danielle de Seriere returns for her third season with Dutch soccer club FC Twente.
