OFF THE TEE

UCI will travel to the Fresno State Lexus Classic Monday and Tuesday (Apr. 15-16) at the Copper River Country Club.

Copper River Country Club plays at par 72, 6,212 yards.

Teams will play 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start beginning at 8:00 a.m. The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday with tee times beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Tournament field includes: Cal Poly, Colorado State, Fresno State, Cal State Fullerton, Idaho, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon State, Sacramento State, San Jose State, Tulsa, UC Riverside, Wyoming and host Bulldogs.

The Anteater lineup features Michelle Park, Ronnie Valerio, Luciane Lee, Brenna Carlson and Sara Banke.

UCI has won the Fresno State Tournament in 2006, 2008 and 2009. Selanee Henderson was the medalist in 2006.

IN THE CLUBHOUSE

UCI is coming off a loss in a dual match against Long Beach State, 309-304 at Strawberry Farms Golf Club. Junior Ronnie Valerio and freshman Luciane Lee led the Anteaters with a score of 76.

Up next, UCI will participate in the Big West Championships April 21-23 at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.

The Fresno Lexus Classic has all but three teams (UC Davis, Hawaii, Cal State Northridge) the Anteaters will face at the league championship.

Freshman Luciane Lee was named Big West Player of the Month for March after her third place finish at the Juli Inkster Invitational.
