● The 'Eaters built a 17-point lead at 26-9 over Northridge in the first half, but the Matadors gradually closed the gap and outscored UCI, 13-4, in the final 1:50 of the game.  Daman Starring led the 'Eaters with 15 points, junior Chris McNealy scored 12 and freshman Alex Young 10.

● In Saturday's loss at Hawai'i, UCI led 42-35 with 16:47 left before going scoreless for seven straight minutes as the Rainbow Warriors reeled off 14 straight points to take control.  Alex Young scored a career-high 20 points for the 'Eaters, hitting 8 of 13 field goals.  He tied his career high with seven rebounds and added seven assists.

● UCI drew UT Arlington in the Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters and will face the Mavericks Feb. 23 at 5:00 p.m. (CST) at the College Park Center in Arlington, Tex. This will be the first meeting between the schools.
