PICKRELL PICKS UP ANTEATERS
- Cassidy Pickrell recorded a career-high 25 kills and hit .447 in the win against the Titans as the Anteaters snapped a six-match losing streak against CSF.
- The last time UCI swept the series against CSF was in 2009.
- In Big West games, Pickrell leads the team with 132 kills and a 2.81 average.
- Overall, Pickrell is third in kills and tied for second in aces with 27.
- Pickrell is third in the conference with a .34 ace average.
DAVIS TOPS TEAM IN DIGS
- Arden Davis posted 21 digs against Cal State Fullerton, marking the sixth time this year the freshman libero has posted 20 or more digs.
- Her career-high was a 32-dig effort against Xavier.
- She is currently seventh in the conference with a 3.62 dig average.
ANDERSON ACES HER WAY INTO TOP 10
- Freshman Shelley Anderson jumped into the Big West top 10 this week with a .26 ace average.
- The setter aced the Titans twice last week and now has 27 on the year to tie for second on the team with Pickrell.
- Anderson is also seventh in the league in assist, handing out 9.02 assists per set.
- She did not commit an error offensively against UC Riverside, putting away six of nine attempts to hit .667.
BUBICA, SQUIRES HOT AGAINST HIGHLANDERS
- Marisa Bubica and Aly Squires both posted standout performances in the sweep of UC Riverside.
- Bubica did not commit an error in 20 attempts and posted eight kills to hit .400.
- She leads the Anteaters with a 3.02 kill average, is second with 287 kills and third with 68 total blocks.
- Bubica is ninth in the Big West in kill average.
- Squires hit .357 against UCR, recording 11 kills in 28 attempts with one error.
- The senior outside hitter has a team-leading 310 kills, is second with 267 digs and third with 67 total blocks.
MANZ STAYS HOT IN THE MIDDLE
- Arielle Manz logged a combined 12 block assists in the two matches and is second in the conference with a 1.18 blocking average.
- Against UCR, the junior put away eight of 16 attempts with one error to hit .438 to go along with two aces and fie digs.
- She then added eight kills against the Titans and five block assists.
- Manz holds the team-high in blocks with 118.
- With 107 block assists, Manz is tied for seventh in the UCI single-season record with alumna, Kristin Kelley (2007). She needs two block assists to tie teammate Ella Rosenfeld, who had 109 in 2012.
ABOUT THE 49ERS
- Long Beach State is fourth in the conference at 15-11 overall and 8-5 in the Big West.
- The 49ers are the top blocking team in the conference, averaging 2.61 per set.
- Delainey Aigner-Swesey leads the team 346 kills and a 3.43 kill average.
- Long Beach State defeated UCI 3-0 last month and owns a 65-8 series lead.
