- UC Irvine, looking for its first Big West win, travels to UC Davis and Cal State Northridge this week.
- UC Davis is 1-2 in Big West play and sits in fifth place while the Matadors at 3-0 are second in the Big West behind Hawai'i with a 13-3 overall record.
- The Anteaters have lost four straight for its longest losing streak this year.
- The team leads the Big West in aces (1.50) and is second in blocks (2.44) and digs (15.23).
TRIO PACES ANTEATERS
- Cassidy Pickrell, Aly Squires and Arielle Manz posted 11 kills apiece in the 3-1 effort against Hawai'i.
- It was the fourth match that Pickrell has reached double-figure kills this season and the freshman is fourth on the team with 99 kills.
- Pickrell also had a match-high three aces, tying a career-best for the outside hitter, who moved to third on the team with 14 aces.
- Pickrell is second in the conference with a .35 ace average.
- Squires continues to lead the team in kills, boasting 211 and a 3.20 per-set average.
- Squires is fourth in the Big West in kills and in points with 246.5. The senior is also second in digs with 167.
- Manz's 11 kills were a season-high for the middle blocker. She hit .421, the sixth time this year she has hit .400 or better in a match.
- Manz tied for the team high in block assists with three and is fourth in the conference with a 1.10 per-set average.
FLEMING CLIMBS TO FOURTH IN CAREER BLOCKS
- Shannon Fleming posted three block assists against the Rainbow Wahine and passed Anteater alumna, Sami Cash, in career block assists with 313.
- She needs just three block assists to take over the No. 3 spot in the career annals which is currently held by Dana Kurzbard (2001-04), who logged 315.
- Cash had 312 block assists in her four-year career that stretched from 2001-04.
- Fleming is third in the Big West with a 1.11 blocking average and has chipped in 89 kills while boasting a team-high 23 aces, placing her third in the conference at .35.
YODER LEADS DEFENSIVE EFFORT
- Molly Yoder led UCI defensively, picking up nine digs in the four-set contest.
- Yoder is averaging 1.69 digs per set and has 108 on the year.
AGGIES IN ACTION
- UC Davis is 9-7 overall and 1-2 in the Big West after falling to Cal State Fullerton in five sets and beating UC Riverside in four.
- The Aggies are led by Kaylin Squyres, who is averaging 3.18 kills and is third with 119 digs.
- UCI holds a 12-6 series lead against UC Davis but the Aggies won six of the last eight against the Anteaters.
SQUIRES VS. SQUYRES
- Aly Squires and Kaylin Squyres will face off against each other this Thursday. Squires, a senior, is averaging 3.20 kills while Squyres, a sophomore, holds the team-lead with 3.18 kills per set.
- Squires leads Squyres in digs (167-119), blocks (.59-.26) as well as aces (12-11).
- Squires is fourth in the Big West in kills while Squyres is fifth.
MATADORS RECEIVING VOTES
- Cal State Northridge, receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches' poll, is 13-3 overall and undefeated in conference at 3-0.
- The team is led by Natalie Allen's 194 kills and 3.08 average. She is second on the team in digs with 162 and second in blocks with 47.
- The evenly-matched series sees UCI with a 23-22 lead over CSUN. The Anteaters beat the Matadors twice in 2012 but CSUN took both matches in 2011.
