UC Irvine Competes in Sacramento Friday

IRVINE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's cross country team returns to action Friday in the NCAA Inter-Regional Jamboree at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento.
The men's 8,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Haggin Oaks is also the site of the NCAA West Regional Nov. 15.
Joining UCI and host Sacramento State in Friday's men's competition are Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, California, Fresno State, Long Beach State, San Francisco, Saint Mary's, UC Davis, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and UCLA.
Five of the men's teams are in the West Regional rankings, led by No. 3 UCLA.
The 'Eaters are coming off a third-place finish in the Mustang Challenge Division I Invite Sept. 21 in Santa Clarita.
SCHEDULE CHANGE: UCI will now compete in the Vanguard Invitational Saturday, Oct. 12, at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa. The men's 8,000-meter race is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
