- The Anteaters will look to snap a six-match losing streak against the Highlanders Friday before tackling fourth-place Cal State Fullerton Saturday.
- UCI Athletics and the women's volleyball team will recognize the 1988 NCAA Tournament team, including alumna, Kris Roberts, who passed away from breast cancer last June.
- Fans are encouraged to wear pink Saturday to join UCI Athletics in bringing awareness to the fight against cancer.
MANZ, A MONSTER AT THE NET
- Arielle Manz posted 11 total blocks in two matches and jumped from fourth to the top of the Big West with a 1.11 block average.
- Manz, who shares the spot with Chisom Okpala of Long Beach State, has nine solo stuffs and 71 block assists.
- The junior posted seven kills in each of the contests and is fifth on the team with 93.
FLEMING JUMPS TO THIRD IN CAREER RECORDS
- Shannon Fleming notched eight block assists last week and now has 321 career blocks, passing former Anteater, Dana Kurzbard, who sat in the number three spot of the UCI career records with 315.
- Fleming, who is averaging 1.11 blocks per set, is now eyeing second place in the annals which is held by Amanda Vasquez (2002-05).
- The senior put away 14 kills and fired three aces last week and remains ranked in the Big West at fourth with a .35 ace average.
ACES HIGH FOR PICKRELL
- Cassidy Pickrell totaled five aces in two matches to hold onto the No. 2 spot in the conference in ace average at .39.
- Pickrell has 19 aces in 49 sets and posted two aces or more in three consecutive matches.
- The freshman also totaled 14 kills against UC Davis and five against the Matadors and is third on the team with 118 kills.
SQUIRES APPROACHING 4000 MILESTONE
- Aly Squires is nearing 4000 attempts, which would make her just the fifth Anteater to reach the plateau.
- The senior stands at No. 5 in the career records with 3,948 and needs 66 to uproot Popi Edwards, who totaled 4,013 from 1992-95.
- Squires leads the team with 238 kills and owns a 3.17 kill average to sit in fourth in the Big West.
SHORING UP THE BACKLINE
- UCI is one of two teams to have 1,000 digs on the year and tops the conference with 1,160, thanks to the trio of Arden Davis, Molly Yoder and Hannah Nabbout.
- Davis scooped up 38 digs last week and paces the team with 223 and a 3.84 average to place fourth in the Big West.
- Yoder totaled 32 digs in two contests, including a season-best 17 against the Aggies. She has recorded 140 digs this season.
- Nabbout also reached double-figure digs against UC Davis with 11 and chipped in six against the Matadors. She is averaging 1.85 digs and has 115 on the year.
ABOUT THE HIGHLANDERS
- UC Riverside is 1-15 overall and 0-4 in the Big West.
- The team is led by Christina Maietta, who has 144 kills on the year and is averaging 2.88 kills per set.
- UCI is 26-12 all-time against the Highlanders. The Anteaters swept the Highlanders in Riverside but fell 3-1 at home.
ABOUT THE TITANS
- Cal State Fullerton is 9-7 overall and 2-2 in conference action.
- Alyse Hensley tops the team in kills with 166 and aces with 14.
- UCI owns a 41-28 series lead against CSF but have dropped six straight to the Titans.
