LONDON --- The U.S. Olympic women's indoor volleyball team goes for Olympic history Saturday when the top-ranked Americans take on second-ranked Brazil in the gold-medal match at 10:30 a.m. (PT).

The Americans, with UCI head coach Paula Weishoff and assistant Jamie Morrison serving as assistant coaches, will be attempting to win the first Olympic gold medal in U.S. women's indoor volleyball history.

The U.S. defeated Korea in a semifinal match Thursday to move to 7-0 at the London Games and advance to Saturday's final.

Team USA defeated Brazil, 25-18, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21, July 30 in Olympic Pool B play.

Weishoff, entering her third season as UCI's head coach, is a decorated Olympian herself, competing three times as a player (1984, 1992 and 1996).  In 1984, she took home a silver medal and in 1992, she won the bronze and was named the Games' Most Valuable Player.  Weishoff is the only American women's volleyball player to earn two Olympic medals.

Morrison served on the staff of the 2008 U.S. Olympic men's volleyball team that earned the gold medal at the Beijing Games.
