'Eater Alums Key Newport to Gold at US Open of Water Polo

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine alumni led the Newport Water Polo Foundation to the championship of the US Open of Water Polo this past weekend at William Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine.
Greg Enloe scored four goals, Omar Amr three and Griffin Lerman two in Newport's 11-4 victory over Bruin in the final Sunday.
Enloe played at UCI from 2006-09 and Lerman from 2007-10, earning All-America honors his senior season.
Goalie Genai Kerr, a 1998 All-American at UCI and 2004 Olympian, was named tournament MVP.
Amr, a three-time All-American (1994, 1995 and 1996) for the 'Eaters and 2004 Olympian, earned all-tournament honors as did Dreason Barry, also a three-time All-American (2002, 2004 and 2005) at UCI.
Newport is guided by UCI head coach Marc Hunt.
