IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine fought off a sluggish start to finish with a 15-8 victory over Harvard Saturday evening at a chilly Anteater Aquatics Complex.

UC Irvine (17-5) had a less than impressive start to the match getting shut out through the first period. Harvard (9-9, 1-1) had the only goal from Devan Kennifer.

The Crimson hung right with UCI through the second period as the teams were tied at three at the half.

The Anteaters trailed early in the second half before putting together a small run to go up 7-5 entering the fourth period.

In the fourth period, UC Irvine turned on the jets for eight goals including two from Jessy Cardey (Riverside / Poly HS) who finished with four on the match to lead all scorers.

UCI takes a couple weeks off before Big West play gets going. The Anteaters will travel to Cal State Northridge (March 31st) and UC Santa Barbara (April 1st).
