FREE KICKS
- UCI had its first multiple-goal effort on Sunday with Laura McGrail scoring twice. It was UCI's first four-point day of the season joining three-point games from Natalia Ledezma, Jordan Utvich, and Dana Sanderlin.
- Laura McGrail leads the all Big West players with four game-winning goals. No other player has more than two.
- Since 2009, UCI is 4-7-7 in overtime matches.
- UCI (117) and UC Davis (118) are among the bottom of the conference in fouls committed. Pacific leads the Big West with 165, nearly 14 per match.
- Pacific's 14 yellow cards are more than UCI and UC Davis put together (13).
FAR POST
- UCI finished up its nine-game road trip: 39 days, 4,454 miles, and four states, before it finally returned to Anteater Stadium last weekend. UCI went 5-4-0 on that trip.
- UCI has played back-to-back overtime matches on its last match of September and first match of October two years in a row now.
- There are currently six ranked schools on UCI's ledger: No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 9 BYU, No. 12 San Diego State, No. 20 Pepperdine, No. 21 Long Beach State, and No. 23 Oregon State.
- UCI will face five MAC Hermann Watch List players in 2012: Chelsea Buckland (Oregon State), Nadia Link (LBSU), Lindsi Cutshall (BYU), Kelley Monogue (Texas A&M), and Michelle Pao (Pepperdine).
THROW-INS
- Natalia Ledezma, Dana Sanderlin, and Mady Solow were named to the DU Invitational All-Tournament Team.
- UC Irvine led the Big West Conference in average home attendance in 2011 at 694. UCI is averaging 560 in six home matches in 2012 trailing just Hawai'i.
- UCI finished second in the Big West in 2011 in goals-per-game (1.86) and goals-against-average (0.92)
- UCI was the only Big West school in 2011 to have two players, Natalia Ledezma and Lexi Kopf, record 10+ goals.
- UC Irvine was held scoreless twice in 2011, the lowest total of any Big West school.
STOPPAGE TIME
- MINUTES WATCH - Haley O'Brien continues to lead the squad with 1,350 minutes played and is joined by Zoya Farzaneh (1,323) and Mady Solow (1,272) in the 1,200-minute club. Five players have played over 1,000 minutes.
- SAND STORM - Senior Dana Sanderlin is climbing the UCI record book. Most notably, her 79 appearances are four away from the program record of 83 set by four players.
- ON THE SPOT - Rachel Wood is now 3-3 in penalty kick situations. She's the first Anteater to make three in a season since Judy Christopher in 2009. Christopher was 4-4 in her career.
ATTACKING IN NUMBERS
- UCI has defeated five ranked opponents in the last three seasons. In 2012, UCI has taken down No. 21 Oregon State and No. 21 Auburn. In addition, they've marked wins over No. 11 Texas A&M and No. 25 Portland in 2011, and No. 17 San Diego in 2010.
- Natalia Ledezma and Lexi Kopf each earned a hat trick in consecutive weeks in 2011. The program had just two hat tricks prior in its existence.
PRESEASON
- The Anteaters were picked to finish second in the Big West behind Long Beach State. LBSU earned eight of nine first-place votes with UCI earning the ninth.
- Junior forward Natalia Ledezma and sophomore midfielder Cami Privett were voted to the Big West Preseason All-Conference Team.
- Natalia Ledezma was ranked 84th among the Top 100 college players to watch according to @TopDrawerSoccer.
SOCCER AT THE NEXT LEVEL
- UCI alums Danielle de Seriere and CoCo Goodson both play for FC Twente, a soccer club stationed in the Netherlands.
- FC Twente is currently in first place in the BeNe League Orange at 5-0-1. Goodson has started all five matches at center back, and scored her first goal, a game-winner in the 79th minute, in a 2-1 win over Ajax last month.
- Rachel Flemming, a 2008 alum, started her first season as a defender for LA Strikers FC. Anteater alums Judy Christopher and Sarah Devine are together on the San Diego SeaLions.
TIGER TALES
- Head Coach Keith Coleman is in his 19th season with Pacific.
- The Tigers finished 2011 with a record of 8-9-1. So far in 2012, they are 3-8-1 with wins coming against premier programs Oregon, Arizona, and at Saint Mary's.
- UCI and Pacific have played two common opponents. Both lost to Pepperdine while Pacific was able to defeat Oregon.
- Pacific is 0-2-1 in Big West play to this point. They got their first Big West win of last season against UCI in a 3-2 overtime victory.
- Junior Maricela Padilla leads UOP in nearly every major category with six goals, 13 points, two game-winning goals, 31 shots, and 15 shots on goal.
- Freshman Kathrine Larsen and junior Tashia Long have each played in eight matches in net and started in six.
- Larsen holds the edge in goals allowed (12) and wins (2) while Long leads in saves (32) and has the only shutout.
- In the last five matches, 24 combined goals have been scored between UOP and its opponents compared to 19 in its first seven.
AGGIE SWAG
- Head Coach MaryClaire Robinson is in her 21st season with the Aggies.
- UC Irvine ended the Aggies season last year with a 1-0 defeat in the Big West Semifinal. UC Davis finished at 11-7-1.
- UC Davis is 7-5-1 this season, 2-1-0 in the Big West including its most recent 3-2 win which came against Pacific.
- Ashley Edwards leads UCD with 10 points. She and Sienna Drizin each have four goals.
- Kiele Argente has also contributed with three goals and three assists.
- Taylor Jern has played all but 24 minutes in net stopping 60 shots while earning a 0.98 goals-against-average.
- Ten of the Aggies' 11 starters have remained the same all season.
- Opposing teams are 0-2 in penalty kick situations against UC Davis.
- The Aggies have failed to reach the 10-shot mark in a match twice this season, both were losses.
- UCD started the season 3-0 on Sundays with a combined score of 8-2. Since then, they are 0-3 and have been outscored 4-0.
