GAME NOTES
- UC Irvine is second in the Big West standings at 3-1 and sits behind league leader, Hawaii (5-0).
- Both Pacific and UC Davis are tied for third behind the Anteaters at 2-1.
- Senior Kristin Winkler continues to creep up on the Big West all-time dig leader, Cami Croteau (2,194) and currently has 1,883 digs.
- In Big West matches Ella Rosenfeld leads the conference with a 1.71 blocking average. Rosenfield recorded nine blocks in two matches last week and leads UCI with 55 on the year.
- Shannon Fleming hit a personal-high .556 against Cal State Northridge last week. The middle blocker had just two errors in 18 attempts and put away 12 kills in the win.
- Fleming also had a career-high eight digs against the Matadors. Fleming is fourth on the team with 77 kills and second with 38 blocks.
- Hannah Nabbout recorded a career-high 12 digs in the win against Cal State Northridge.
- Marisa Bubica led UCI offensively with 21 kills in two matches. She also picked up 14 digs to go along with four blocks.
- Aly Squires, who leads the team with 232 kills and a 3.87 average had 18 kills along with 11 digs and seven blocks.
- Marissa Alvarez posted her seventh double-double of the year with 43 assists and 11 digs against CSUN. She also added three block assists and a pair of kills in the win.
GOING TOE-TO-TOE
- Friday's match will pit the third and fourth best blockers in the Big West against one another. Freshman Ella Rosenfeld is at No. 3 with a 1.25 average while Pacific's Gillian Howard is fourth at 1.18.
TIGERS ON OUR TAILS
- Pacific owns a lofty 14-2 overall record and is tied for third in the Big West at 2-1.
- The Tigers top the conference in team dig average at 18.44 and opponent hitting percentage at .154.
- Megan Birch leads the team and is second in the Big West in kill average at 4.00.
- Pacific is out-pacing the opponents, 76-57, in aces with Kat Schulz, Gabby Cowden and Hannah Clancy leading the team with 13 apiece.
- The Tigers own a 53-8 series lead against UCI and have won the last four contests.
AGGIES GIVING CHASE
- UC Davis is also tied for third behind UCI at 2-1 in the Big West with an 8-8 overall record.
- The Aggies opened the conference slate with two wins before falling in five to Cal State Fullerton.
- Allison Whitson leads the team with 224 kills and a 3.61 average.
- The Anteaters are 12-4 against UC Davis with the two teams splitting a pair of matches last year.
OFF THE BLOCK
UCI alumna, Whitney Pavlik (2004-05) and Nebraska graduate, Jenny Kropp, were named the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball National Champions after winning the Huntington Beach Open in September.
